Following the successful conclusion of CLIMAAX’s first open call selection, 32 regions have officially embarked on their climate risk assessment journeys, speeding up their transition toward becoming climate-resilient regions.
As the work progresses, it is crucial for the regions to connect and share insights, and what better way to do this than through a remote “get to know” meeting? That’s precisely what the CLIMAX consortium decided to organize in order to facilitate knowledge exchange and encourage learning from one another’s experiences. These get to know sessions were held over the course of three Monday mornings involving over 60 participants from more than 10 countries across Europe and beyond.
The rounds provided a valuable platform for participants to engage in presentations, share insights, and take part in interactive Q&A sessions. Throughout these meetings, representatives had the chance to introduce their respective regions, providing a detailed overview of the local context and the specific climate risks they face. In addition, they highlighted the key impact metrics they are using to assess those climate hazards, as well as the expected outcomes of the project. This collaborative setting enabled the sharing of innovative approaches and challenges, promoting a deeper understanding among regions and fostering common actions and solutions when it comes to climate change.
