The first festival of the Arcadia project took place on April 9 in Zagreb (Croatia). The event was dedicated to empowering change-makers for climate resilience through Nature-based Solutions (NbS) which are, according to the European Commission, “solutions that are inspired and supported by nature, which are cost-effective, simultaneously provide environmental, social and economic benefits and help build resilience. Such solutions bring more, and more diverse, nature and natural features and processes into cities, landscapes and seascapes, through locally adapted, resource-efficient and systemic interventions”.
By fostering the exchange of knowledge, tools, and best practices, the festival aimed to equip local and regional actors with the means to adapt to climate challenges and implement effective, sustainable solutions. This initiative highlighted the importance of collaboration, innovation, and community engagement in building a climate-resilient future.
CLIMAAX project was included in the panel of the second session, “Tools & methods to work with NBS in a changing climate scenario” (11:30-13:00 CEST). Jeremy Pál (CMCC) showcased the Framework and the Toolbox developed by the consortium, concluding his speech with a presentation of the CLIMAAX Community of Practice.
