This series of webinars, conceived to support Regions and Communities selected by the first FSTP Open Call in the execution of their Climate Risk Assessments, took place in October 2024 to deepen some of the topics of the “Handbook Overview” webinar held in July. Each webinar is in English, lasts about 1 hour, includes a Q&A session, and is hosted on the Zoom platform.
Handbook Overview
The webinar, addressed to selected applicants of the first open call, introduces the Digital Handbook explaining the main elements of the climate risk assessment framework and the available workflows. Moreover, the webinar indicates what type of skills are needed for the subconsultants. Speakers: Anna Pirani (CMCC), Dana Stuparu (Deltares), Christopher Polster (ECMWF), Michaela Bachmann (IIASA), Erika Meléndez (UPC).
What is expected from the Regions
Welcome on board! In the first webinar we provided a general introduction of CLIMAAX, we set out our expectations for your project and shared with you in which ways we will be available to help. There was time for questions and interaction at the end. Speakers: Frederiek Sperna Weiland (Deltares), Erika Meléndez (UPC).
Framing the Climate Risk Assessment Process
This webinar introduced you to the CLIMAAX Climate Risk Assessment Framework. We dived into the conceptual background and the five operational steps that drive the framework’s process. We discussed why it is relevant to apply this framing to assess risk workflows and explained the importance of putting the risk estimations into context to develop optimized climate risk management responses. Speakers: Anna Pirani (CMCC), Dana Stuparu (Deltares).
General introduction to the Handbook
In this webinar, we provide an overview of the latest version of the CLIMAAX Handbook, give tips on how to navigate its content and show how to use the climate risk assessment workflows. We further introduce the support channels and computing resources offered by the CLIMAAX project. Speakers: Christopher Polster (ECMWF).
