The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change has published its latest Activity Report, marking three years of growing momentum in building climate resilience across Europe. With over 400 regional and local authorities involved, the Mission is supporting communities to turn adaptation plans into concrete action—from restoring floodplains and cooling urban heat islands to launching early-warning systems and community-based solutions.

Tailored support is reaching 145 regions through the Mission Implementation Platform (MIP4Adapt), and more than 70 regions are receiving financial support via projects such as CLIMAAX and Pathways2Resilience, which were both showcased in the report.

The CLIMAAX section focused on the drop-in sessions for regions and the community of practice. The first meetings put practitioners in direct contact with project experts and each other, allowing them to discuss and resolve current issues related to the application of the CLIMAAX Handbook. Progress and experiences are shared, and this feedback informs the ongoing development of the Handbook.

The Community of Practice is a collaborative network designed to foster learning, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among practitioners, experts, and stakeholders engaged in climate risk assessment at local and regional levels across Europe. The CoP brings together individuals and organisations committed to advancing climate resilience by sharing experiences, co-designing solutions, and building capacity through interactive workshops, knowledge-sharing activities, and the development of innovative tools for CRA.
